Playing around with more Proginoskes interpretations for commission work, this time experimenting with blue/black tones with gold accents. I just finished reading the first two books of Between the Earth and Sky trilogy by @rebeccaroanhorse and I think the cover art from the first book, entitled Black Sun, influenced these design. One of the main characters harnesses the power of crows to fulfill a prophecy that takes place in a fictional Mesoamerican society. I highly recommend her books—they’ve been a much needed escape from the chaos of the world. Looking forward to expanding these designs onto a larger canvas.

I picked up this book by David Wade at the Saatchi Gallery and what a gem it is 💎 Whilst I’ve been unwell it’s given me some important reflection time about how I want the style of my work to look and trying to uncover my true artistic voice so to speak. I’m sometimes a bit guilty of acting like a kid in a sweet shop and wanting to try every art technique and style going. Even within abstraction there aren’t many perimeters. So far my work has sat more within abstract expressionism , but future work for me is going to involve more black and more minimalism. More on why in future posts. 🧘 🖤
