I'm working on a few projects. Writing and art, and waiting to hear about something else. The art exhibition was a success. I love writing though and to test my capabilities I've started posting some of my fiction and research on Substack, only for an English speaking audience for now. Good reviews so far. I'll post a little excerpt below from "the day tomorrow arrived" a fictional story fusing Italian bureaucracy and magical realism. Photo: @artistadc 📸 . . . . "The day tomorrow arrived" I discovered that the gravity blackouts were longer at night, and stronger which they tell me is why so much of the brickwork seems to follow no logical pattern of tessellation. In fact I saw many windows filled in with bricks going diagonally, gaps and chaos. Older buildings seemed less affected by this due to entropy. The modern buildings were designed to look rather sterile so any changes would be immediately visible. Older women would spend a lot of time putting everything in order again so it was not obvious that anything had actually happened. Local historians tell me that this phenomenon only started after the major earthquake in the 17th century. Some old documents describe the buildings crumbling but the stones falling upwards before crashing to the ground. The second time I witnessed this was during the olive harvest, a few years after the pandemic." . #substack #substackwriter #aspiringwriter #magicalrealism #calabria #instagramcalabria #josesaramago #onehundredyearsofsolitude #shortstory #fictionwriter #almostanthropologist #blackandwhitephotography #bianconerofotografia #londonerincalabria #englishliteratureitalianstories
