Wer sie noch nicht kennt, lest selbst, was sie über sich zu sagen haben: [Electric Playground] Electric Playground wurde 2007 von Sascha T. Und Christian H. gegründet. Es ist ein Kollektiv aus Kulturschaffenden, das sich aus persönlichem Interesse dafür einsetzt nicht-kommerzielle Veranstaltungen durchzuführen. Die Mitglieder sind meist DJs und Künstler, aber auch ehemalige Klubbetreiber, die sehr viel Wert darauf legen einen familiären Charakter für ihre Veranstaltungen zu erhalten. Die Angehörigen des Kollektivs haben eine große gemeinsame Leidenschaft „Psychedelic Trance“. Das Kollektiv ist und war während der letzten 20 Jahren in Berliner Klubs und auf Festivals aktiv. We are excited to announce @mehmetaslan_ on our line up for our day-time fundraiser for Gaza @cadus_org & @doctorswithoutborders this Sunday, May 26th from 14-22, at the garden of @about.blank.berlin Born and raised in Basel, Switzerland to a Turkish immigrant family, and now based in Berlin, Mehmet Aslan has been driven by questions related to the fluidity of his own post-migrant identity since his breakthrough EP, ‘Mechanical Turk’, was released on Glasgow’s Huntleys + Palmers in 2014. The subsequent years have seen Aslan grow as an artist as he interrogated the answers to these questions through music production & live performance, DJing and graphic design, leading to 2022’s debut studio album, ‘The Sun Is Parallel’. Released on Basel’s Planisphere Editorial, the album also featured contributions from Italian percussionist & composer Valentina Magaletti, Spanish composer Niño de Elche and Mehmet Aslan live band members Alican Tezer (drums) and Daniel Pankau (guitar). The album was followed in 2023 by the curation of ‚Senza Decoro: Liebe + Anarchia / Switzerland 1980-1990’, a compilation of Swiss new wave & post-punk rarities for Strut Records. More live tour dates and further musical projects, both solo and collaborative, are planned for 2024 and beyond.
