Thank you to everyone who made it to Art A Whirl 2024!! This was the best one yet 🎉🎉🎉 For real, thanks to all the new and familiar faces, everyone who laughed and got excited about things with me, all the cat lovers and bird enthusiasts (bird people proved yet again that we're actually the craziest ones), the people who braved the rain and wind and heat, the people who searched for my booth for a specific visit, the newcomers who brought friends back because they were so excited about critters, the people who got their toddlers little cat prints and are teaching their kids to appreciate artists, the anime cat fans and fellow nerds, my booth neighbor @spoonandtheory , @mandybymandy for organizing the Bauhaus setup, anyone who I had an "it's a small world" connection with, my superfan (you know who you are haha!), my friends and family who rotated in and out of the booth all three days 💘 , anyone who laughed specifically about the cottonmouth snake, and of course everyone who bought prints and originals 💞💖💕🩷 I've been trying to explain how fulfilling this art a whirl was. I feel like my happiness level filled and overflowed. I wish I had thought to get more pictures to remember it! Even when it stormed on Friday and I was walking through the rain at 9pm it was a great night. The art community is so wonderful. Our hearts are full. 💜 We spent the most beautiful Sunday afternoon immersing ourselves in the special language of mountain bike skills with an incredible group of Stökers. Their progression on the bike — and ability to execute tricky elements of skills! — left us even more stoked for the season to come. Wedding vendor appreciation post no. 1! @midlifechristopher and I got married last October and now that the holidays are well behind us, I’ll highlight some of the vendors we booked who made our day spectacular. First up, our venue and alcohol supplier - @bauhausbrewlabs! Anyone who’s followed my stories knows we go to Bauhaus often, and we were so lucky they had an opening the weekend we wanted to get married, because it was our first choice. They hadn’t started opening the taproom on Sundays yet, so we were able to book the entire space on a Sunday afternoon. Bauhaus was easy to work work with and chill, as we fully expected. Used their sound system to play our Wedding Bangers playlist (carefully curated by Christopher) and microphone for our officiant. We were allowed to use an outside food vendor with prior approval. We went with @delsurempanadasmn, and I’ll talk about them in the next post! We were so fortunate to have a beautiful fall day. Said our vows outside on the raised patio/stage, and even being interrupted by a passing train added delight. Our Bauhaus contact asked if we wanted the giant skeleton taken down for our big day, but of course we said no. Bauhaus is always a fun time, and if you’re looking for event space that’s vibrant and fun, I’d add them to your list of possibilities!
