As I told you in yesterday’s post, as you crochet and crochet, you master the technique and of course learn new ways to do things along the way. You also see what works and what doesn’t or what makes a pattern more challenging. In these years I have gone back to some of my first patterns to make new versions, sometimes with different hairs or heights. Sometimes it’s also the result of your feedback (“Boy, was that tunic long!!”). I leave here two examples. And a tip: don’t be afraid to revisit your first patterns, be them your own or from a designer. I bet you’ll crochet that doll differently from the first time you made it. Day 7 #amigurumay2024 - Hooks 💕 . When I started out with crochet I used super cheap hooks, I even loved finding different ones at second hand stores. As my passion for crochet grew, I decided to try a hook with a slightly thicker and softer grip. And so my love for @tulipjapan_official hooks began. I know they’re an investment, but I’ve been growing my collection slowly over a number of years and I look out for them when they’re on sale at my local craft store! . While I really, really love the look of my pink hooks, you’ll be surprised to know they’re not my fave. I love my 2.2mm red hook and my 4mm grey hook. I loved it. ❤️ When I started crocheting dolls, I found that with the Popcorn Stitch I could recreate the noses of the drawings I made, so it’s one of the stitches I love the most.
