She has danced with the Pittsford Ballet School and The University of Rochester Ballet. While attending The North Carolina School of the Arts summer program, she discovered Pilates and quickly fell in love. She went on to receive a performing arts scholarship to SUNY at Buffalo and graduated with a degree in Women's Studies. In 2004, Robin received her 600-hour Pilates certification in mat and all apparatus through The Long Island Center for Pilates. In 2011 she was certified in Exhale Core Fusion classes, where she taught until 2017. Additionally, she is certified in Balletone. Repost from @juliechrzan • Shameless mom moment + studio plug: Lucas has been taking a conditioning class with his soccer club, and showed me a “weird” position he did in class, proudly stating that he got his foot off the floor. I told him that we teach this position too, calling it a “pretzel”, and it builds core/glute strength + stretches the hip flexor. Actually, a lot of the exercises he does in this class are ones we also teach: wall sits, leg raises, abdominal work similar to our curl position. We @motionstudy teach a traditional barre class in a functional way, so that our exercises not only tone you up, but give your body practice at holding good posture and finding core stability which carries over to the rest of your day. Barre can condition you for any primary activity you do…running/cycling/skiing, you name it. Welcome @anneldurham to the @motionstudy.fit team! ✨ Anne discovered barre during the summer of 2016 when she moved from New York City to Weston, MA. Having been an athlete throughout her life and playing both soccer and lacrosse at the Division III collegiate level, Anne has always focused on fitness and trying different approaches to challenge her body, mind, and improve her health. ✨ Anne attended graduate school and worked for seven years in New York City, where she began a regular yoga practice that helped her find increased strength, flexibility, and mental fitness amidst the demanding pace of NYC work and life.
