An arthroscopic procedure performed to repair torn rotator cuff tissue - through 2 or 3 small incisions around the shoulder, sutures are introduced into healthy rotator cuff tissue that has torn away from its attachment. A bone bed is cleared of soft tissue at the appropriate attachment site. A metacarpal fracture repair is a surgical procedure performed to repair broken metacarpal bones of the hand. An incision is made on the back of the hand and the broken bone or bones are exposed. Proximal humerus fractures of the ball require surgery when it is broken into 2 or 3 parts and the parts are separated from their desired anatomic location. The rotator cuff attaches to these parts and therefore they must be in the right position in order to have good shoulder motion and strength. Humerus shaft fractures where the two bony ends cannot be in near approximation due to soft tissue interposition are typically treated surgically.
