Continued from yesterdays post.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dislikes 1. When we see bridesmaids’ bouquets on the ground or chairs at the ceremony - use this budget elsewhere! 2. Repurposing ceremony to the reception. Installations should be designed to its location and when we move installations it’s not ever the same 3. When people say “I don’t want to spend money on the flowers because they just die.” The cake and the booze don’t last after the event, so why are the flowers held to a different standard? Flowers set the mood and create the overall experience and ambiance. Flowers transform a basic white linen and make it a wedding. 4. Seeing a bar without flowers. It’s the most seen location 5. . Asking your florist to supply candles. This eats into your floral budget (and since when is a candle considered a flower??) and it also requires us to staff more people, therefore increasing your overall cost. Buy your own candles and shades (we’re happy to share where!) and have your florist or planner set them out for you. 6. Summer weddings in hot places. Not only will your flowers be uncomfortable, but so will you and your guests! We know everyone loves a summer wine country wedding, but we also know that temps have been skyrocketing up there. If you’re dreaming of getting married outside, think of a “cooler” place in the summer, or have an indoor reception. Feel free to DM us for our thoughts. 7. Not taking the time to train your Pinterest as you start your design process (hot tip: look at our full post on this, located in our grid) 8. Asking for out of season flowers - we’re happy to suggest replacements that are healthy and less expensive. 9. Not letting the setting inspire the color palette and floral look and feel 10. Leaning into the season for all aspects (food, flowers, colors, venue) 5. Smaller weddings - this way you get to spend your budget on the details that truly matter to you and yours! 6. If you’re changing dresses, ask your florist for a different bouquet for each look! We use the most delicate flowers for your ceremony bouquet so if you’re planning on doing golden hour photos - it won’t look as fresh when you’re entering your reception. You should always have fresh blooms for a fresh look. 7. Have flowers in your hotel or bridal suite to give everyone a little taste of the day, and bonus - they will be featured in your getting ready photos. You will also get to enjoy a floral moment when you wake up the next day. 8. When brides send us a DM after the wedding. 9. Flash and blur photography 10.
