A massive buyout has hit Graham Media Group and KPRC 2 appears to be one of their news stations affected. ⁠ ⁠ Per a report from Houston media blogger Mike McGuff, 12 staffers at the Houston NBC affiliate will be leaving Channel 2 by July 1 after reportedly accepting a buyout. It's unclear who the staffers are, but they can include individuals who work behind the scenes. ⁠ ⁠ KPRC did not respond to a request for comment as of this writing.⁠ ⁠ The news comes just one day after San Antonio sister station KSAT 12 announced six of its longtime journalists are retiring in the next month, which McGuff speculates is also likely due to the buyout. The stigma around mental health still persists in many communities. Our AAMA Prevention and Counseling team was on KPRC 2 this week to highlight our Familia Adelante program from our Teen and Family Center that offers a variety of mental health services and substance use prevention and counseling services, all free of cost and in English and Spanish.
