Hi there - It's Sayuri from Japan! These are the pictures of my one day trip to London! I went to London by bus from Norwich, it cost only £30 for the round trip and each way took 3 hours :) I had Marugame Udon(丸亀製麺) for the lunch, and also a bubble tea after! Then on that day, I was lucky enough to attend the musical show "Les Misérables". It was a brilliant show!!😳✨ All in all, it is super convenient to visit London from Norwich! 👋 hi, again! It’s Non here. From quite a number of walks I’ve done around UEA, I’ve gathered my favourite spots into a route for you to follow along 🚶🚶! Save for when you arrive at UEA! Coming from Earlham Rd entrance, I like to start off from Earlham Park just behind our beautiful law school building. (The park is huge and you can enjoy it more over the summer). Then, I make my way along the River Yare around to see some cows (you’re lucky if you see them) and walk around the UEA Lake to Ziggurats (the best spot to hang with friends). Just off from the lake, I sometimes wander away to see the ponies and walk all the way in the woods to Waitrose in Cringleford. (A big plus for step counters, if you sign up with UEA Moves and track your steps, and get Free coffee! We have an extremely busy couple of month ahead of us so thought we would post this to outline the important dates of February 🫶🏼 -TOMORROW lessons go on sale at 10am. They will be posted on the SU website for you to purchase please refer to our previous post for more details about this 💞 -WEDNESDAY MMA are hosting a self defence class for pole this is free for UEAPF members but please get a ticket from SU website so we know numbers. Again please refer to our previous post for more information on this 💘 -SPORTS NIGHT will then follow this with a joint social with MMA, theres a post on this to come -THURSDAY we have our first practise back, this is just for returners to practise what they learnt before Christmas. The following Thursday practise will be open to everyone 💕 -FRIDAY pole hosts MMA. Pole members will be teaching MMA members what they’ve learnt in lessons 💗 -SATURDAY we have a ONE OFF choreography class!! tickets are on the SU website NOW!!! And take you wherever it is you want to go. Back away from the curb! Get your ticket out! *** 💙❤️🚐 I love that there's a National Express stop on in the middle of campus where coaches come and go at least a few times throughout the day. It's a convenient, reliable, and inexpensive way to get to lots of places in the UK, not just London! Hello there! I am Fauziah, the Student Ambassador for Indonesia. I come from a city called Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. I am currently in the Global Development School, pursuing my master's degree in Gender Analysis in Global Development. I like exploring and visiting new places, and I fell in love with Norwich instantly! I also find that UEA is a beautiful campus with lots of facilities. You can see how many photos I took from some spots on the campus and the city. My favourite place in Norwich is the Norwich Market, where I can find vegetables and an Asian shop where I can find my favourite Indonesian dish recipe. Hi! I'm Ayesha, one of the international student ambassadors for India. I'm currently in my 2nd year of study as a medical student at UEA. I've truly had an amazing experience so far. A large reason for this has been the extremely friendly environment at UEA that has been contributed towards by staff and students alike. I've also found myself enjoying the countryside scape that surrounds you in Norwich and also entrenches the university campus, perfect for walks and little picnics. Another favourite pastime of mine is frequenting the little bookshops that dot the town centre, cosy in nature, seemingly enchanted by a welcoming fairy. This has helped me indulge more in my reading hobby. A further popular avenue to challenge the problem of occasional boredom is visiting one of the many cafes tucked away in and around town, a popular haunt amongst many students at UEA. There are a number of other activities that both UEA as well as Norwich have to offer. Norwich + UEA is a perfect place to do all of these things: there are three cinemas in town but my favourite is Cinema City (they actually offer a really good student membership for only £20 per year), and UEA’s very own LCR is the biggest venue for gigs in Norwich, and I’ve caught a couple of shows and gone dancing there many times; there are plenty of amazing restaurants both in the Norwich City Centre and in the general town area (my all-time favorite is @viet.namphonorwich on Dereham Road), not to mention the covered market (love the bao buns and the Chinese takeaway stalls); and an abundance of beautiful green spaces such as Earlham Park and the football fields by the University hospital, which are my two happy places on campus. When you get here, please check out the radio station on the top floor of the Hive building, the Media Suite, and the aforementioned green spaces—if that’s not enough to get you to fall in love with UEA, no worries! Hi! My name is Shariff Hakeem, the International Student Ambassador for Ghana and a Master’s Degree student in Education and Development. Outside my academic life, I love to ride my bike to Eaton Park to enjoy the scenery. I also like play table tennis and pool with my friends in the Student Union Building. Occasionally I go to the UEA lake and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts to enjoy the exhibitions and sculpture. UEA is a very diverse and welcoming university. With over 250 clubs and society every student easily finds an interest. I am a member of ISOC. I also attend events held by other clubs and societies to have fun and meet new people. The @uea_careercentral at UEA provides students with important employment resources, mentorships and training that are relevant in shaping students for graduate work. The department also advertises information on part-time/graduate jobs. Campus life is lively and fun. The most exciting aspect of UEA is its respect/tolerance for students from all cultural backgrounds, special needs, and support. Norwich is a beautiful city that give you a blend of modern and traditional life experience. In choosing my university, I was very careful in choosing a city that was relatively less expensive and most importantly was safe to live in. The people in Norwich are supportive and welcoming. There are so many places to visit and eat in the city centre with a very colourful environment. Norwich is a treasure in British history with exciting places to see; The Forum, Eaton Park and Norwich castle among others. Fun fact! Hi everyone! I'm Xueyan, the Chinese Student Ambassador! I’ve dreamed of studying films for a long time and now I’m doing MA Film Studies at UEA! I love watching films and reading books, and Norwich is really a nice city for me to explore many exquisite bookshops here. There are many antique shops and art galleries here too.
