Testimonial from an absolute ray of sunshine. Jacqui had a very late diagnosis of autism, dyscalculia, OCD and PTSD. She has lived a life of being exploited. She is someone who gives back 100% and is SUCH as rewarding and caring human being. We worked hard to get her a Support Coordinator. We then went through a process together of recruiting a Support Worker to add to the team. This included advertising, learning how to read resumes, conducting interviews and then offering the job! We created an "About Me" profile as well as an NDIS profile with the important information needed for oncoming supports. Jacqui enjoyed collaborating to write interview questions. She also used a checklist that I have created which shows important compliance checks. I encourage all people to check important compliance checks such as insurances, licences etc with unregistered providers and registered providers. I NEVER assume that registered providers have their checks because too many times I have worked at companies that just aren't on top of the basics. Having Support Coordination has been a game changer for Jacqui. We decided to go with Healthy Emporium and Jacqui loves working with her Support Coordinator. Jacqui is learning about the concept of "conflict of interests" which is an important concept for any participant to get their heads around. It was important for her to understand that it is NOT appropriate for Support Workers or other clinicians to have access to her full plan including the financials.
