DISNEYLAND DISABILITY SERVICES CALLBACK Ok they finally called me back and basically told me what many of you have been told, that the service will remain as a case by case basis. He also told me that the verbiage on the website was just to get it “back to what it was intended but it wasn’t changing the service”. He also backed away from my comments that the verbiage goes against the ADA Title III. 🙄 I informed him of the current problem at the parks being that some CMs at the umbrellas and City Hall/Chamber of Commerce are going by the website and declining people. Telling folks you don’t seem autistic, you are fine cognitively, and other just truly sad biased statements.🤦🏻♀️ I told him his department needs to talk to leadership at the parks to get this cleared up. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. It is a common thing that one hand at Disneyland doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. Sigh. So my recommendation still stands, ask for a lead or manager if you have any issues and encounter any biased statements. I want to add that ANY encounter with a CM who uses biased language with you to remember to get their name, location, date and time of encounter and send an email to Disability Services AND go to City Hall to report it. That behavior is not acceptable and you have a right to be treated with respect. Not rolling eyes and outright rudeness about your condition. 👉🏼Remember the changes to registration begin 6/18 with the location for it being at certain ticket booths in the esplanade and no longer inside the parks.
