Judy Vanderveen paints and draws the things she loves - rodeo life, cowboys, wildlife, and mountains. Her life experiences come through her pencil drawings and paintings, and bring the viewer into her world, giving them a sense of peace and comfort. Raised in the Fraser Valley in and around the farming communities, Judy began riding horses as a teenager and has remained a horsewoman all her life. She has competed in many gymkhanas, rodeos and large horse shows. One highight was being chosen the first recipient of the Miss Horsemanship title in the Cloverdale Rodeo Queen Pageant. As an avid trail rider, Judy competed in the gruelling 50 mile endurance ride and race once hosted in Abbotsford. Pam Assi has used a variety of mediums over the years starting with oils and pastels but now her preferred medium of choice is acrylics on canvas. Her subject matter has continued to change and evolve starting with landscapes and still life, but it was the Covid Pandemic in 2020 that was responsible for a new subject matter in her work. Being isolated at home, the birds in her garden gave her constant companionship. They were like children all having their own characters, curious natures, and naughty antics, and they kept her amused, happy, and ‘sane’. Nathan is one of those people who doesn't realize there's anything he can't do. When he sees something he's interested in, he reads widely, thinks deeply and seeks to master it. Most of Nathan's sculptures reflect his love for people, young and old, interacting with their particular situations and surroundings. Through his sculptures, Nathan hopes to take you back to a simpler life of days gone by with loved ones, family and friends.
