WELL MANNERED & BIG HEARTED ISH 17hh, 16 yrs young, Chestnut Registered Irish Sport Horse Gelding by Arthurs Gold. A seasoned hunter, team chaser & leisure horse. Simba has had one owner since being brought over from Ireland as a youngster. He’s trail hunted for many years & he’s enjoyed drag hunting, team chasing, fun rides & solo hacking on Salisbury plain. He knows his job as a hunter, he loves being in the field & he doesn’t get wound up. He’ll keep a steady pace towards the front or at the back. He’s quiet, controlled, mannered, he stands well at the meet, he can also up the gear if asked & he’s also whipped in. Simba has also enjoyed two seasons drag hunting with the Berks & Bucks where he flew over hedges & he’s competed in a few Novice Team Chasing events & he didn’t bat an eye at any of the rails, ditches or hedges. He ties to the lorry & he’ll stand for hours. He currently lives on the edge of the Salisbury Plain where he enjoys going solo hacking for hours, covering miles, all while two dogs run alongside him. He’s ridden in a snaffle or when solo hacking, he’s ridden in a pressure halter. He’s been taught to respond to his rider’s voice & he’ll easily change gaits via voice command, he’s a true ‘on the buckle’ ride. He loves having a purpose & he’s just a well-mannered, big-hearted lad who wants to be in the countryside rather than the arena. One owner. Easy to box, shoe, clip. Clean legs. Very good doer. Lives out or in, alone or with company. Bombproof in traffic. Easy to do in all ways. Very sadly advertised because his jockey has taken on a new job that requires frequent travel.
