Weekly animation/production review: What had the best animation this week⁉️ Demon Slayer: Welp we literally got a page and a half adapted into a 20 min episode 🤣 but at least we got a really cool cut by Yuuta Kiso. The way they draw the characters, especially Tengen, is super pleasing to look at, and the choreography on him is insane as well. Really like the smears on the wooden sword in particular Kaiju No. 8: we got a super impressive cut from proro on kaiju this week, characters doing flips are always a treat. I love the bounciness on each of the characters, overall this episode was really good. Wish they kept this type of quality for some of the earlier episodes, but hopefully we get more cuts like this later in the season as well Wind Breaker: another awesome fight scene, with kazuyuki asaka handling the layout once again. I say this every week but so much personality is conveyed in the characters just by their fighting style, which is refreshing to see in delinquent anime. Can’t wait to see the climax for this fight tomorrow, I have no doubt it’ll look great DunMeshi: funny little scene this week by dunmeshi vet sho oi. The small little character acting moments are quirky and fun to watch, and the artwork is fantastic per usual. I’m expecting some big studio trigger names to pop up as we get closer to the finale One Piece: cool scene this week from one piece, done by jayu. It’s not so much the animation specifically that’s impressive but the amount of thought put into the storyboarding of it all. The compositing looks really good here, and the explosions are great as well. The egghead arc in the anime has been a real treat to watch

Weekly animation/production review: What had the best animation this week⁉️ One Piece: we got a super awesome cut this week from Shoutarou ban, I love the way his animation style has evolved since wano. Lots of great influence here from Mori, but with his own added flair. The debris and smoke in particular is really nice, the geometric style of it pairs well with the character art. Hoping to see more of Ban’s work soon Wind Breaker: this was definitely the strongest cut of the episode, with LO work from kazuyuki asaki and genga done by hiroaki kurihara. Like I said last week, I like how distinct the fighting styles of each of the characters are. The fabric shading is really impressive as well Kaiju: this scene was definitely the highlight of this weeks kaiju episode, with some of the scene animated by nonno. The effects stood out the most, and we got a really cool looking impact frame at the end. Hoping we get more animation of this caliber in the coming episodes Demon Slayer: go kimura did this scene for demon slayer this week, and it’s just as polished as you’d expect. It’s great to see water breathing be animated again, I feel like it’s been so long since we’ve seen it and it’s for sure part of the reason why the 1st season was so aesthetically pleasing. Even though this season will be more chill hopefully we get some more great action DunMeshi: shun murata and shouya sakaguchi did this scene for DunMeshi. The smears in the beginning are really nice, but the background was a little wonky lol. The slo mo was also pretty solid, nothing much more to say MHA: solid sequence by kouji sugiura on this weeks MHA, I really like the timing done on the characters. I don’t really expect much in terms of animation for the next few episodes since things are still gearing up, but hopefully we’re saving that for fights later down the road this season

Weekly animation/production review: Which show had the best animation this week⁉️ One Piece: We got a super cool cut this week from up and coming animator Shinnosuke Tanaka. I believe he was originally a student of Mori’s before working extensively with Akihiro Ota, and both of their influences can be seen heavily in his style, especially Ota’s. Really loved the way they played around with the environment and BG animation as well, can’t wait to see what else they’ll do with the One Piece production moving forward. Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer is back, and despite the entire season being a training arc we got some nice anime-only action content as well. Masayuki Kunihiro did the KA for this scene, and he’s just as good if not better than what we last saw of him on S3. The effects and comp are really pleasing to watch, but his character acting is really good too, which ties this whole scene together quite nicely. Wind Breaker: We got even more great hand to hand combat animation this episode. The choreography is really good and I appreciate that they’re able to draw out the cuts as long as they can without switching too often. The smoke effects at the end were also a nice touch, if this is what we’re getting now hopefully the main two fights coming next will be even crazier MHA: Kazuhiro Miwa makes his return to MHA from all the back from S1. It was a bit tamer of a contribution than some of his other works, but was impressive nonetheless. You can always count on him to animate a great looking explosion, and this was no exception. Considering Frieren and Undead are wrapped up and Fire Force doesn’t seem to be coming back soon, hopefully we get to see even more Miwa contributions later this season DunMeshi: Small goofy lil scene from DunMeshi this week by Tatsuro Kawakubo, but solid as well. The drawings look fantastic, nothing much more to say really

Snippet from a small new sequence I have been working on! Weekly animation/production review: What had the best animation this week⁉️ Wind Breaker: we got a really nice action episode for wind breaker this week, with most of the action LO done by kazuyuki asaka. The wide shots sometimes get a little silly with the animation but the closeups look really really good here. And it’s always nice to see some cool choreography, especially for a delinquent anime where a lot of the fights are just throwing punches. MHA: My hero returned this week and we got a really solid episode with a great lineups of in-house talent from bones. Shun Shibata did the KA for this sequence, the camera rotation and the effects work are super cool here. This episode was also storyboarded by the new series director Naomi Nakayama, hoping she does some good work this season bc y’all already know how I feel about the previous director 🤮🤮🤮 Kaiju No 8: We got a really good sequence this episode, even with all the dimming the animation looked fantastic. Studio khara’s Kaiju designs are really paying off because they look fantastic here, and the lightning effects are stunning as well. Hoping that production IG can keep this level of quality One Piece: Namaita made their anime debut on the last one piece episode, and it was for a pretty significant action sequence as well. The smoke in particular looks really good here, very 3 dimensional. I’m really happy that Toei is putting their cards on newer animators and freelancers and giving them hefty scenes to work on, I hope they continue this trend DunMeshi: super awesome and snappy sequence from DunMeshi this week, the KA is unknown but it could be Ichigo Kanno’s work. Trigger’s background animation is always great to look at, and the angular designs really sell the aesthetic as well
