Trying to beat the weight on your secondary and tertiary day when itโs not there is a great way to make sure you never recover for you main days. In an off-season that may be fine and you may even want the range of intensities to be smaller across the week but when youโre trying to really let one or two days be the show, youโre not going to feel shit hot coming to the gym. No reason to get emotional once you understand this. Maybe time to call time on 5x a week benching. The ground work has been laid and genuinely feel like I could use the extra dayโs rest.
