I made the red door blue! I was in the mood to experiment with drawing with my fountain pen and then spreading the ink with water and a paint brush. Here's my version of this beautiful red door of a building in Riga, Latvia for #dtiyswithkatieandjanet . Things went wrong with this one but I somehow managed to salvage the sketch and I'm happy with how the final piece turned out. One of the pens I used to ink this sketch wasn't waterproof and I hadn't realised that until I started adding watercolour and the next thing I knew was that the ink was bleeding all over the place, oops! Thankfully, I had a gelly roll pen handy and used it to fix the worst of the problems. I also had to redraw all the details on the leaves all over again though.
