It was a way of escaping what was going on in my every day life and going to something that would take the pain away. Grateful it was a show and not alcohol as a kid. Jason was in that show. Over the years I’ve kept up with projects he was in off and on. Lately I’ve kept up more with who he is as a human being and his side projects like the band, mostly his rock climbing and the cool partnerships he’s been apart of like @soill . But tonight I got the awesome opportunity to go see his band, @oof_tatata play in Nashville as a part of Jason’s @meilivodka tour… which by the way @forbes has named best vodka in the world, which is pretty cool! What. A. Baller. Night. Y’all standing on my feet from 7 pm till 10 pm was no small feat (😏 “Get it?” As Lø would say in his song) (I’m hilarious I know) Back to it. Seriously I can’t believe I lasted that long. Back was hurting for sure and when we left OMGGGG my body was like “sis what was that” but was it ever worth it. A night I won’t forget. (Thx to my amazing @ericwiththeband for coming with me and *literally* holding me up at one point to help me last the night) [I have no idea what was up with those lights lol made me look bloated and like an orange Oompa Loompa haha I mean I know I have some pounds to drop - thx chronic illness- but stiiiillll] 🍊 Anywho. So wonderful to meet up with a fellow “spoonie” (chronically ill person. I hate saying that.) @awolstar - you were THE SWEETEST person and so was your date. Truly a wonderful night hanging out with you! I’m SO freaking happy for your experience with @lo.spirit and I hope your kiddos had fun looking through all the photos and vids. And can we also talk about the amazing bartenders at @canneryhallnashville?! We spoke to Andrew and he was the sweetest person!! Had great convos and he made a killer pineapple margarita for me 🙌🏼 Everyone there from the guys at the door to the merch was seriously awesome. My birthday adventure is this weekend, courtesy of my amazing Aaron (and my wallet). The sweet kid begged for a few days to cancel part of his birthday adventure, and tried handing me all of his birthday money as well. We compromised. I said I would honor his request but not take his money, I worked some extra babysitting instead. His request was for me to go hide in the woods, no work allowed, and go see our favorite musician, who also has MCAS, and is nervous on his first tour. Aaron really wanted me to go support him, but Aaron said he wasn’t quite ready for his first concert with his POTS flaring. Him and Abby have been hard at work drawing Lo Spirit some pictures for the meet and greet. But this note that Aaron wrote is so powerful. I wanted to share for all our chronic illness friends. From the words of a wise 10 year old with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome: “Me my mom and you have MCAS. We all know it can be hard sometimes. But we have all pushed through something hard some time. So you have to push through. Push through this and everything you can. Thank you for inspiration. I’m so proud of you.” I am speechless. And proud. I will happily deliver this kids dreams to a muse that gives us an outlet to our pain. One of the craziest/scariest/most fun/I don’t even know experiences I’ve had on stage so far (honestly ever)!!! Last night I went to my very first Pitch Meeting @canneryhallnashville I didn’t sign up for the chance to perform but @soohungry asked the crowd “are there any songwriters here for the first time who didn’t sign up?” I raised my hand not thinking anything of it and he picked me out of the crowd to come up and sing one of my original songs…omg!! What an insane feeling!! The band listened to my tune ‘Potions’ for probably about 15 seconds and away we went. They kick ass. Seriously one of the most thrilling, heart stopping, nerve wracking but fun and exhilarating experiences I’ve had. Thanks for keeping me on my toes and getting me out of my comfort zone. Omg. One of the biggest surprises of my life. Can’t wait to come back (bring my charts!! Sign-Up list opens at 7pm. • PINDROP SONGWRITER SERIES • Pindrop Songwriter Series is a collective and community of songwriters out of Nashville, Tennessee. To say that Pindrop has humble beginnings is an understatement. Established in 2020 at a local bar, Belcourt Taps, two songwriters, Stevie Rae Stephens and Kiernan McMullan began booking the music during their weekend shifts. Before long, they were running the bar and creating the first instance of the Pindrop community. Known for intentionally curated rounds and named for its listening room environment, Pindrop boasts a roster of over 500 immensely talented and inspiring artists from all over the globe. Stevie Rae, Kiernan and honorary founder, Sean Cunningham, hit the road in 2022 for the first Pindrop tours that would take this format of the Nashville writers’ round all over the country as well as the UK and Ireland. Partnered with two London-based songwriters, Pindrop UK was established in 2023 to encourage more community driven collectives of aspiring songwriters! Hailing from Nashville by way of Montague, Massachusetts, The Berklee College Of Music graduate is bringing a much needed revival to rock with her fresh innocence and serious talent. Jax’s sound is a unique blend of Classic Rock, Blues, and Americana, combined with songwriting, riffs, ripping solos, and powerful vocals. Her debut record, “Underdog Anthems” was produced and engineered by music legend Michael Wagener (over 100 million records sold). In February 2024 she played the Rock Legends XI Cruise, alongside names like Sammy Hagar, and Billy Gibbons. Jax traded solos with Rick Springfield during the “All Stars Jam”. Sign-Up list opens at 7pm. • RON ARTIS II • Hailing from Haleiwa, HI, Ron Artis II is an award-winning artist who brings a unique soulful- honest-songwriting style to the stage. Music is the Artis family trade. His father, Ron Artis, was a renowned musician who mentored Ron at an early age, having him join him onstage by the age of 8. Having also received lessons from local musical legend, JP Smoketrain. Ron was a quick study and his exceptional skills as a guitar player were evident, soon seen as a musical prodigy. For the next several years, Ron performed with his father and their family band in Hawaii. He was immersed in and exposed to a wide spectrum of musical styles. Thanks to this early mentoring, Ron developed his own abilities as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer, eventually stretching out on his own and coming to the mainland. Now, performing all original music and energizing audiences all across the globe, his blazing versatile guitar playing style is captivating. New and established fans leave the experience feeling loved, electrified, and pondering the lyrics. In recent years Ron has toured and collaborated with such great artists as Jack Johnson, G Love, Ben Harper and many others. Ron’s music and message has gone global, as he has partnered up with several charties to help get instruments and musical knowledge to otherwise underserved kids from Los Angeles to New York to Maui to Ireland. During high school, she launched her My Lips Are Sealed (Except When They’re Not) Tour! featuring four of her original songs, headlined the Mirage in Las Vegas, sold out the Ryman twice, performed at the Opry multiple times, and co-starred in the 2022 film A Cowgirl’s Song featuring one of her original songs “Just Breathe.” So now at 19, Darci Lynne is poised to climb the charts with her music while staying true to her roots and herself.
