Pretty good testing day for us yesterday, 0.9568 to the 60ft! 💪🏻😎 So we are getting closer and closer with the Vette but there is still a lot of stuff to sort out!... 🤓 But I’m happy anyway! We have made 2 more passes down the track with the Vette! 🤩 0.9568 to the 60ft in the first test round tells me I’m on to something, but still far away when I look at the Racepak data!... I went into a shake before I saw the shift light for second gear and when I shifted it went way worse!... 🫨🫨 That round ended up with a 4.06 to the 1/8 and 6.26 to the 1/4! To the next round I did A LOT of changes everywhere in the car! Then when I backed up after the burn out I felt that something was kind of wrong, but I could not say why I felt like the engine wasn’t idling like it should... 🤔 The car felt great but a bit lazy in the round, 0.9748 to 60ft and 4.04 to 1/8 and ended up with a 6.20 to the 1/4 mile!... I felt it was down on power and after the round when I looked at the data I saw that cylinder 1 was kind of out directly when the burn out started.... 😬 And when we took off the valve covers we found a broken valve spring on cylinder 1.... So that was the power I was missing during the round, the good thing is that engine looks good so far, so we haven’t hurt anything! We are finally warmed up and soon ready after some issues with our Racepak during the morning!… 😑🙃 Was about to warm up the motor for the first test pass today, turned on the power to check Co2 bottle pressure and I could see that the Racepak dash started to blink and did turn on the warning lights... Then I started to smell something electrical getting burnt!... 😳 After some troubleshooting we found out that the v-net module for the oil pressure sensor had burned up!... 🔥☄️ Really strange because last night I did have the power turned on for 10-15 minutes doing some stuff with the Racepak and had no issues! Finally, the race season is here! 😎 We are still here in the pit at Santa Pod Raceway after the Doorslammer weekend, servicing the Vette and getting it ready for the coming weekend and The Main Event which are the first round in the European Championship! 🚙💨💪🏻🤠 And I just want to say a huge thanks to the ones that helps us make this possible for us to do, our awesome partners! ❤️ Best of all is that many of you are friends of mine that believes in me and helps me out because they know how much work and effort I put into this and to make it work! 😍 We did have a good first race / test weekend here even that I’m not all satisfied with the numbers on the car (because I can see it is faster when I find all the small things) but I’m happy with the weekend because WE FINALLY HAVE A RACE CAR! 🚙💨💪🏻🥳 Last year we just messed around… Now during the winter I have done the homework and we now have 5 rounds in the car between 6.19 to 6.50! 🤠 Not much to talk about and the car will be faster! I’m figuring it out more and more each round, most important right now is making rounds down the track for me to get comfortable in the car and see that the motor is happy, and so far all looks great when it comes to the engine data! 🤩👌🏻 Just gonna add some more ratio in the transmission, add some power and we are going into the 3.9? A pretty good day yesterday here at Santa Pod Raceway and the Doorslammers! 🤠 I’m starting to find out what the Vette wants, and I have finally made a couple of real passes in it! 🤠🤩 First round out yesterday we got the car down the track for the first time! 0.992 to 60ft 4.06 to the 1/8,mile and a 6.32 to the 1/4 mile! I was off the throttle at 5.15 because it moved around too much! 😅 In that round we also damaged the front end on the car!… But fixed it really quick! 😁 This was the first real pass I made in Jörgens Vette! 🚙💨 Then we made a 0.966 60ft, 4,03 to 1/8 and 6.19 to the 1/4! Car felt good but I was off the throttle and chutes out at 5.95 because it felt so lazy… Kind of forgot about how it is to do 1/4 mile passes! 😅🤣 After that I added some power and was looking for a 3.9? and 6.0? But a connector to the kill switch for the removable body did have a different plan for that round and the car went silent at 550 feet!… 😑 But the numbers did look good, 0.960 to 60ft and 4.02 to the 1/8 mile! But it felt really good until it died and in the chip draw last night for todays eliminations we were lucky and got a bye run for first round today! 🤩🥳 So I see it as we have one more test round for free, and we are here to improve! Today we have qualifying from 10:00 to 8:00 in the evening, hopefully we will get at least 3 rounds today! 🤠 It was a bit messy day yesterday, time did fly and we did not get the number of rounds I hoped for!.. 🙃 But pretty ok day anyway after all! First round the car shaked really bad early in the round so I aborted it!… 🫨 In the next I at least manage to shift to second gear! ➡️2️⃣✅ Got a bit surprised over how the car worked and I shifted way too early and went into a shake... 🤨 But 4.21 to the 1/8 mile is a personal best I think! 😅 Hahaha!... After around 160 hours in the shop the last 8 days trying to get work stuff done and the racing circus ready to leave for Santa Pod on Monday next week, it’s finally time to leave the ÅBM shop way delayed and heading for Ludvika to drop of the rig and then directly home to Vansbro for something really important! 🤩 Celebrate the love of my life and best friend Sofi that’s turning 40 years young on Monday! ❤️🎈 When I’m in the Scania on my way to England! This past weekend was a good one! 🤩 Max will not be able to go with us to the races this year, that’s the first time in almost 13 years that will happen! 😳🥲 He will be missed for sure, but he will be back! ❤️ So, we needed someone to replace Max and that ended up with a new team member named Klas and he’s a part of Team Ludvika from now on! 😍 So this past weekend I did have some converter and converter drive school with him and Max did take care of the Lenco school! 🤓📚 The result after the weekend is 4 serviced Lenco Transmissions, Bruno Drive and Neal Chance Converter that are ready to go into the car! 💪🏻😎 Klas will be a great add to the team and he’s good at what he’s doing so I’m sure this will work out great! 😃 When we did spend some time at the ÅBM shop in Täby Jörgen, Ludde and Moa did put the motor together and back into the Vette in Ludvika! 🥳 Season start is getting closer, 3 weeks from now we will be in Malmö waiting to go on the ferry to Germany! Today is a special day for a special friend of mine, it’s the World Parkinson’s Day today! 🧠 And Parkinson is the reason why I’m driving Jörgen Bergs Corvette 79 in Pro Modified! 🚙💨 I planned to announce our racing schedule today or “The Pro Mod Parkinson Tour In 2024” as I named it a couple of days ago! 😊 And then I did hear this morning, today is the World Parkinson Day! So what a great day to tell the world! 😃 As many know, Jörgen asked me in 2022 if I would like to help him finish the car and make a couple of test races with it, just for him to see it go down the track! And Parkinson is the reason he’s not driving it himself…. He cannot get his license because of it!… He was building his dream, it got delayed, he got sick during the time… 😪 I think it’s really sad, and things like this puts your mind in a different perspective. What if I got sick and could not do what I wanted the most!.. 🙄 We all complain about stuff but getting sick for real and not be able to do anything about it is on a level above everything else! 😕 Many think that I’m kind of getting paid to do this, that’s WAY wrong! It’s money and time involved like it was my own race car! I’m doing this for Jörgen! We in the team are doing this for Jörgen because we love him! 🥰 And I am honored that he wants to do this with us and trust me to drive his car! Jörgen is one of the nicest and kindest persons I know, and that’s no matter how people treats him! He always does all he can to be the great guy he is! ❤️ So if you wanna help, do something that matters! When me and Sofi was at Gainesville Raceway two weeks ago I saw a familiar body style! 👀😳 And we made a new friend named Paul Daigrepont! 😃 The Andy McCoy Chevrolet Corvette 1979 is not a common body style out there in the Pro Modified world! I did knew about the first one, think it was a white one that I think was crashed and repaired and then became red or if the red one was a completely new car, then Jörgen’s car, then the beautiful purple one that Larry Jeffers finished last year but haven’t made a pass as far as I know! 🤔 And then at the grandstand in Gainesville I saw this one that belongs to Paul! 😎 Of course I had to go and visit the car in the pit area! 🤠 First of all I was really curious to see the measurement between the body and tires because me and many others think that Jörgens car look strange and have way to much space between the tire and body, and it does that due to a way too narrow rear end on the car!… 🤨 Anyway I started to talk to Paul and I said “cool car and body style” and he said “yes it’s fun to be different, and it’s not a Camaro” he told me what I already knew about the other cars around with this body style and ended with “that’s also a car over in Sweden” and I said, “I know, it’s me driving it for a friend of mine” 😁 He was like “whaaat, really!?!? “ And did shout on the team to tel them who I was and so on! 😀 Really nice talking with him and to take a close look at the beautiful car! 🤩 And I really like that there is more people that wants to use a different body style just to be different! During the week between the World Series Of Pro Mod in Bradenton and the NHRA race in Gainesville me and Sofi did have some real vacation! 🥳 And what’s the best thing to do when you have vacation? 🤔 Of course see cool stuff so we went by our friends Mel and Shane at their company Gulf Coast Driveshaft in Tampa to pick up the carbon fiber driveshaft they built for Jörgens Pro Mod Vette! 💪🏻🤩 They custom built a carbon fiber driveshaft with a Strange yoke for our Lenco trans using a 3.5” ID carbon fiber tubing, 2024 aluminum bond yokes and 1350 U-joints! 👌🏻 Something I think is really cool is that they offer IN HOUSE Static Torque Testing of ALL carbon fiber driveshafts before shipping! 😎 No more failed bonds or breaking carbon fiber shafts at the first hit, they know what they are selling because they have already tested it! That’s the right way if you ask me, why should the customer be the one that “checks if the product they purchased are ok”?!.. 👎🏻 Think they said they are 1 of 3 shops in America to offer a service like that! And it’s not an additional cost to your shaft, it’s included in the price! They 100% guarantee that the bonds are solid up to 4,000ft/lbs of torque and I think that makes like a 15 degree of twist in it at that load, which is CRAZY!! 😅🤣 Of course they are balanced also before the shaft leaves the shop! 😊 The reason I found them was because the one I earlier bought carbon shafts from had no interest in me as a customer… And I did remember that I saw a clip about Gulf Coast Driveshaft on @stevemorrisengines YouTube channel so I did look it up! Scania truck work! 🥳 Finally! 🤩 Since I bought the truck back in 2017 we knew we need to fix it up a bit because it is pretty rusty in the chassis!… 🤨 And the years have passed by and nothing has happened due to a million reasons….
