I finished my April One Little Word prompt. I did some reflective journaling and included photos of the highs & lows from the month, embellished with word/phrase stickers. Got my April pages done just under the wire this month. This was a tough one and honestly this first photo sums up how I am feeling about life right now. Added my "light" moment to my February pages in my One Little Word notebook. I will be using the monthly 4x6 cards to document a moment during each month where my word made itself visible. If I remember correctly, March will be our practice prompt. I will once again be finding a quote related to my word to carry with me each day. I will be sharing daily in my stories. There's is something so therapeutic about flipping through magazines and pulling out photos and words that speak to you. Participated in a Vision Board workshop yesterday and my heart is full being in a community with people from all walks of life, people with different goals/dreams and people who plan on tackling this life in their own unique way. So fascinating listening to this community be vulnerable and sharing what inspires them, their struggles and challenges and just their passion in life. I’m in awe thanks to Ali and team for doing this for us and enabling us to find joy and connecting with our “one little word’ through images and this vision board. I really loved doing this!! Weekly Reset of my Tarot Study Card as I’m diving in to continue the work that makes me inspired to be Curious, Creative & Connected to my Self which Grounds me as I walk through the current World we are living in. Off to Work some OT to help lessen the load there, but also to pay for little extras for myself & my loved ones or to just make up for some lost hours in January from taking an extra sick day to take care of my shoulder. And just like that, my journey with my 2024 One Little Word LIGHT has begun. Over the past few weeks I have been spending some time with the January prompt pages and getting acquainted with my word. This year I want to really bring some light into my life-to make time for the things that make my soul lighter, that light my soul on fire. I want to lighten the heaviness of life right now, to let the light in, to let my light shine and be the light for others. First Thursday’s 3 of the Year has arrived with an invitation to take a selfie, share 3 things about Right Now & tag a friend to participate in telling their story as well. Before I started taking part in this project begun by @rukristin I wasn’t as keen on taking selfies or stepping out from behind my camera lens as I spent most of my life being more comfortable behind my camera observing life & taking the photos rather than getting in them. However after losing my Mom & often participating in this project, I feel very strongly that we all need to be present in our own story more. Around here, work is busy as usual, but I’ve been striving to walk a little bit more, so today I convinced myself to get up at lunch, put my coat on & head outside even though it’s -7 as there was sunshine to soak up! 1. I don’t do Resolutions but I do try to choose a Guiding Word & a few projects I’d like to pursue in 2024. This year my Guiding Word is Explore as we have a trip planned in March that is a bit of an adventure & I also am still striving to Explore my mystical & creative paths. 2. Even when Work is busy, I’m striving to make time for my passions even if it’s just drawing a Tarot or Oracle Card to start my day with a short time Meditating, being Creative in some way or even just jotting down my thoughts at the end of the day for what I’d like to work on next. 3. Started watching Only Murders in the Building last night as sometimes I’m late to jumping to the next best thing & I also try not to spend too much time watching too much television. Welcome to 2024. Swipe to see my word for the year. I was contemplating this word a lot in 2023 as it accompanied REST. It was high on my list for 2024, especially as I looked forward to some new things I'll be doing this year. And then, our church leadership announced that our means of grace focus for 2024 would be "fellowship" -- which goes hand-in-hand with what I think of when I think "community" -- that cemented it for me. I'm looking forward to spending a year contemplating community.

2024 will be my 15th consecutive year being guided by #onelittleword. In 2009, I was inspired by @aliedwards, and I am so glad I started, as it is one of the most consistent ways I am present in my life. For me, it is just a whisper where I am paying attention to how I plan for it to show up and how it shows up in ways I am not expecting. My One Little Word for 2024 is simplify. This word has really stuck with me the last few weeks as 2023 is coming to end. As a anticipate my time and projects in the new year, I am planning to explore news ways to document my days ahead. I haven’t decided yet what kind of notebook or album I will use for my OLW project but I added a few notes in my hobo day-free journal for now.
