Chadwick was a PERFECT fit for this role and I feel they captured the likeness (for it’s time) as well as the detailing that went into the suit and sculpting. • Mezco Macro Mondays: 042 • 👾 The Hunter 👾 Went for a little bit more of a darker and grittier look. This was a fun session. The ones I really enjoyed shooting was the Predator dreads (i like the design and material that was used to create them) & armor pieces. There is some really great texturing and I love the lines. • Mezco Macro Mondays: 040 • 💀 Death Mask 💀 Couple of quick shotz! Spec Ops Punisher was a great way to give Mezco collectors a chance to add Frank Castle to their collection. Especially if you missed the previous PX/DX or regular version. One of the highlights for me is the Punisher helmet! It’s imposing, intimidating, and an homage to the tradition of war when soldiers would create death masks, helmets, or put of war paint, before going into battle. When the PX version was scheduled to release there were plans for a baklava mask that didn’t make the final cut. *Interesting story behind that one… It’s been a while, but I would love to see Mezco do an updated version of Punisher. The previous versions are all solid offerings. But, the bodies and materials have gotten so much better and I think the interest and passion for the character is there with Mezco collectors. • Mezco Macro Mondays: 035 • 🐢 Donnie 🐢 I crashed on the couch last night and forgot to post these. So a little late but still in the books. These looks as good as they did when I initially saw them. The same thing that grabbed my attention then is the same now, and that’s the sculpt work. This was a gamble for @mezcotoyz seeing as there are other companies that have done numerous versions of the Turtles and at different price points. Compound Eyes. I have always found it amazing that @mezcotoyz managed to capture the look of compound eyes on Gomez figures by placing the pattern into the interior of the eye while maintaining a glossy smooth exterior. The feature is really only seen at certain angles and with specific lighting. • Mezco Macro Mondays: 031 • 👴🏼 Old Man Flare 👴🏼 This is basically the teaser trailer or prelude to the set I am looking forward to, The Dick Tracy Vs Flattop Boxed Set. But…..Pruneface, as a standalone offering, can definitely hold his own. Which honestly is a good thing because I would love to see them continue with this line. Influence, Big Boy, Breathless, Tess, Junior Tracy, etc. The vibrant colors for each character offering, crossover compatibility, and the accessories, are just the side dishes to the huge helping of nostalgia, that this figure has to feast on. I knew at SDCC that even though these character may not resonate with a majority of collectors, the character design and improvements given to the soft good materials and the body, would unlock the creative side in collectors.
