Today’s kickoff was a strong reflection of our community, it was a sign that people are ready for change and progress, but most importantly it was a strong showing of dedicated members of our community! Supported TSEU in their flight for a pension increase and access to a fair and living wage. ✅ Joined YES, She Can Student Organization at UTEP and the Texas Civic Ambassadors in a panel about mental health in the LGBTQIA+ community. ✅ Worked with City Representative Cassandra Hernandez, District 3 and City Representative Henry Rivera, District 7 to create sound policy to make our community safer for everyone. ✅ Worked with City Council to pass several resolutions that positively impacted our community. ✅ Attended several SDEC Meetings throughout the state of Texas, recently we helped push the Texas Democratic Party's call for a ceasefire in the Middle East conflict. ✅ Marched in solidarity with the Border Network for Human Rights. ✅ Hosted another successful Winter Drive for the homeless where we collected 7 bins of needed items. Today we helped members of our community save this pup's life and solve the crime after he was abandoned in the desert off of Sean Haggerty and Dyer. After countless treats, water, and a small team of neighbors + an Animal Control officer we were able to safely get him to the shelter.
