The calm before the storm ensued… Both kids were excited after boarding, but soon after takeoff, Isla was screaming for a good 10 minutes due to lack of sleep and the discomfort in her ears. Got death stares from a couple of passengers, but I’m deeply grateful to the crew who came to my rescue by serving Isla’s meal 1st and offered a colouring kit to distract my poor little girl. To the crew onboard TR624, I can never thank you enough for helping to ease Isla from her discomfort. Have wrote in to compliment you guys for this. Am beyond grateful from the bottom of my heart. To those who gave me death stares and dirty looks, please fly private the next time you travel so you don’t have to deal with crying babies onboard. Like about half of everyone we got reminded just a little too late that most stores close early the day before Pentecost (Pinse), so we had to find one that didn't to get our groceries for the weekend. And apparently half of everyone else had found the same one. On the outside it was like standing in line before a Taylor Swift concert¹, and on the inside it was like swarming through an anthill. Took a break afterwards down by the harbour to look at the waves and listen to the seagulls. ¹ Presumably. We've never been to a Taylor Swift concert, so I can only guess. On this years Museum Day, 18 May 24, ICOM’s motto for the year “Museums for Education and Research” was highlighted with a display of historic archives by Archives Conservation Laboratories. Focus was drawn to Pakistan’s rich archival heritage with its preservation and promotion as an essential part of museums and libraries across the world. The archives from Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi’s Library, which hold high value in formulating the educational, historic, and cultural landscape of Pakistan, especially Sindh, were displayed . A three day training workshop was designed to inculcate the knowledge of the preservation of the tangible and promotion of the intangible data collected from paper archives for graduate and post grad students from distinguished universities.
