I had a music teacher tell me - in front of my entire class - when I was 10 years old that I sang off key.
I have been lip synching my way through required music and choir classes ever since.
During the pandemic, I signed up for voice lessons with @nycguitarschool over Zoom, and I learned that pitch is a thing you can train, and being tone deaf is not an indictment but rather a starting point.
It has been a very slow process. I often think I have music dyslexia, because what I think is a higher note is actually lower, and vice versa. And what my teacher hears easily - notes, chords, harmony, melody - I just take on faith, because I can't distinguish them.
I've been playing with this Functional Ear Trainer app off and on for a while. I used to get all the notes wrong.
Today I got 100% correct and legit said out loud, to no one, WHAT??
