-Pals, We just celebrated earth day and our fragile planet is in peril.
There is unequivocal evidence that #Earth is warming at an unprecedented rate. And human activity is the principal cause. It is undeniable that human activities have produced the atmospheric gases that have trapped more of the Sun’s energy in the Earth system. This extra energy has warmed the atmosphere, ocean, and land, and widespread and rapid changes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, and biosphere have occurred. And most terrifying in my opinion is that The #Ocean Is Getting Warmer.
The ocean has absorbed much of this increased heat, with the top 100 meters of ocean showing warming nearly .7 degrees since 1969. Earth stores 90% of the extra energy in the ocean. Which is overheating and changing the PH! And on top of that our obsession with #greekyogurt is creating an unprecedented amount of #acidwhey which is acidifying the ocean further, and very soon we will have no ocean plants, or fish. The seas will die and with them… the rest of us.
Ways you can help are to reduce your own carbon footprint with alternate transportation and energy efficient appliances. Embrace #renewableenergy. #Shiftyourdiet and learn about how the foods you eat and their production impact our world.
Ignoring these problems will not make them go away.
Let us keep our Spaceship Earth #GrandandMiraculous for the generations to come. It’s the only home we have.
