Hi folks,<br /> <br />Today, let us introduce about the Japanese traditional holiday “Children’s Day”.<br /> <br />In Japan, May 5th is a national holiday and this day is established as “Children’s Day”. 
The intention of “Children’s Day” is “Wish all children’s happiness and respect children’s personality formation, simultaneously thank to all parents”.<br /> <br />We decorate home with Japanese traditional dolls called “Gogatsu-ningyo”and raise carp-shaped flags called “Koinobori”. Foodwise, we have “Chimaki” (steamed sticky rice wrapped with bamboo leaves) and “Kashiwa-Mochi (a rice cake filled with sweet azuki bean paste wrapped in an oak leaf ) These items can be features of May season.
If you have a chance to visit Japan in May, you must enjoy above seasonal items!<br /> <br />In addition, the first week of May is called “Golden Week” in Japan - we have continuous national holidays that makes us to have a long vacation time. Maybe crowded wherever you go.<br /> <br />The posted pictures are “Tokyo tower with Koinobori (carp-shaped flag)”, “Chimaki”(steamed sticky rice wrapped with bamboo leaves)  and “Kashiwa-mochi”(a rice cake filled with sweet azuki bean paste wrapped in an oak leaf ) .
Especially “Koinobori” flag season is very limited.
