Happy National Tiedye Day! 🥳As I put these glitches under ice and cross my fingers (again, lol), it feels like a good time to remember that learning takes time, and we're worth the investment.

We have a sort of baseline assumption in our culture that "worthwhile" activities are those that either 1) pay bills or 2) enable the thing that pays bills (laundry), which means that exploring our creative impulses can lead to feelings of guilt, or pressure to immediately parlay that interest into a business. And don't get me wrong -- monetizing hobbies can be a path to a wonderful new career. But it can also choke off creativity if we buy into the "payment=only form of value" model of life.

If something I'm doing on here looks interesting, or if you're looking to learn more about tiedye or icedye, hit me up. I'm still learning (aren't we all! 🤣) but I've benefited immeasurably from the generosity of artists willing to share their knowledge, and I can't imagine not passing that forward.
