360-Degree Panoramas of Mt. Fuji and More!
Opened in 2018, Nihondaira Yume Terrace (@yumeterrace) is an observation deck that presents sweeping 360-degree panoramic views of famous sights in Shizuoka.
With large glass windows facing every direction, you’ll be able to enjoy unbroken views of Mt. Fuji past Suruga Bay, as well as Miho-no-Matsubara, famous as one of Japan’s most scenic spots.
There is also a connecting outdoor viewing corridor, where you can stroll while looking over the urban sprawl of Shizuoka City and the Miho Peninsula with a distant view of the Izu Peninsula.
The architecture of the facility is also worth taking the time to appreciate. It was built with lots of local wood from Shizuoka, and was designed by world-famous architect Kengo Kuma, featuring elaborate wooden framework sure to impress.
Inside is also a cafe where you can enjoy tea from Shizuoka, so definitely stop by for a cup after taking in the scenery!
🚃 Access: Take the Nihondaira Line bus from JR Shizuoka Station and get off at the Nihondaira Yume Terrace Iriguchi bus stop (approx. 40 minutes)
