What I have to say about the friendships that I have in my life as I sit here in a lot of gratitude:
It takes both sides to do the work đź’Ż
Both sides to have the willingness to say the hard thing because you care. Not to cause harm, but because you genuinely care and that’s a fine line.
Both sides being willing to listen, pause, and process before retaliating or saying something out of fear.
It’s takes patience, acceptance, understanding.
It takes having both sides communicating DIRECTLY.
Both sides must be willing to look at ourselves, our part, and have humility to say when needed: “hey, I was wrong and I am sorry.”
It takes both sides supporting one another when it matters most: when people start talking trash— you don’t engage, rather you stay silent or walk away. (This is gold)
It’s takes work. Out of this work, friendships are forged that have an unshakeable foundation. It’s real. You don’t have to question anything and I gotta say- THAT is a gift.
It is my hope that you have people in your life that show up like this and in turn, YOU can show up this way because in today’s world, this is gold baby. 🥳
