I don’t know why I chose to watch this one. Probably because I have a soft spot for the eighties. And that must have been the only reason. Oh, and I liked the version of "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" which Annie Lennox and Al Green had recorded for this one.
This is an extremely loose adaptation of Charles Dickens’ story, “A Christmas Carol”, set in modern times and given a comedy fantasy treatment. In practice, about ten per cent of it is funny and the rest is, well, silence. I suffered from severe nausea and total exhaustion having barely survived to the end. It was a box office success. So was the black fever.
Never again.
