Their project, titled "A Comparative Study of Rice Grains from Mexico and the USA: Assessing Nutritional Variations, Heavy Metal Presence, and Pathogen Susceptibility," is a significant collaborative effort with the Cross-Border Threat Screening and Supply Chain Defense (CBTS) division of DHS.

Daisy Wilson a PhD scholar from the Environmental Science and Engineering Program and Valeria Gonzalez, undergraduate student from the Forensic Science Program will play key roles in driving this project forward.
