Unfortunately residential rates have gone up a little, especially for those with lower loan-to-values.
This aligns with increases in swap rates, which might be a response to recent elections and global economic concerns.
But there is also positive news, rates haven't changed much for buy-to-let properties, and in the past couple of days there have been some reductions for residential mortgages too.
Barclays dropped a couple of their fixed rates at the start of the week, and TSB will be making reductions tomorrow.
In addition, both Leeds Building Society and Virgin Money have launched new broker-exclusive deals, to complement their standard offerings.
So overall it's not all bad news! While some rates have risen, there are still good options available, and the market is expected to stabilise soon.
