Trolldom materia, spring sun 🌿🌞
All of these plants are grown at my home for use in my folk magic tradition- yarrow, mugwort, valerian, sweetgrass, violet, mullein, clover, nettle, St. John’s wort {and more not shown!}
Each of these plant spirits has a rich history of uses in Scandinavian folk magic and healing!
The lore and stories about uses by our ancestors throughout history is enriching and fun to learn, and meaningful if it stirs something within us. But in Trolldom, we explore our personal relationships with materia and spirits- and we empower our work by utilizing those relationships to build spells and make change.
I’ll be talking about this and students will be exploring this in my class this weekend: Trollpåse, Spring Spells in Scandinavian Folk Magic. We will be working with the theme of what would we like to grow more of in our lives, what would we like to cultivate for ourselves right now? We will build trollpåsar {spell bags} to support our personal goals. I opened 3 extra seats for this in person class- link in bio!

And we will explore, develop, and put into practice our relationships with materia in-depth during my yearlong course, as well learning the folklore and traditional uses of a wide range of materia. I love the traditional stories and lore and love to share! The waitlist for my year course is getting pretty long, I’m going to close it shortly so if you’d like to get on the list to receive further details, email me at scandifolkways@gmail.com or contact me via my website.
Happy spring, cunning people!
