And we can only assume this measure, constructed by Daniel Cragin in New Hampshire in the 19th century, saw regular use given the gorgeous patina of its wooden body. Now retired from the daily grind, it’s ready for a life of leisure, sitting pretty on a shelf or table, perhaps as a cache pot for a perky plant!
