Today’s 3rd run at Alexandra Park was a true test of both my physical and mental strength. Despite finishing with a time of 38m 16s, +1m 24s from this parks PB, I am proud of my perseverance and determination. The unbearable heat and yesterday’s appointments made it even more challenging.
I couldn’t have done it without the incredible support system I have. My partner, working hard but still sending words of encouragement, my Dad and Uncle (father figure) cheering me on from the sidelines, ensuring I made it through in one piece.
My breathing was off, my heart rate spiked, and I felt sick, coughing due to my burning lungs. The last lap pushed me to my limits, but with Emma by my side, joining me to the finish line giving me words of encouragement, and her Daughter clapping me over the finish, I found the motivation and support needed to push through. I am so grateful for them.
