MEETING WITH RICHARD CARPENTER, Part 3 - CAR COLLECTION PHOTOS 1:
I’m still desperately trying to catch up on social media posts after our recent week in SoCal, including our private meeting with the one and only Richard Carpenter. With our super busy performance schedule, I’m realizing that it’s going to take some time...no pun intended. 😉
Here are some photos of Richard giving us a tour of his car collection at the “Yesterday Once More” warehouse in Thousand Oaks. As I previously mentioned, the space is absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. What a peaceful place to hang out! You will notice that Richard’s favorite cars are classic Chrysler convertibles. The Mickey Mouse keychain was gifted to Richard by our dear friend @gatlinerin Erin Gatlin (who orchestrated this meeting) on a previous visit...and as you can see Richard is still using it for Karen’s 1972 Mercedes Benz 350 SL V8 W107. You can also see the 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (“Daytona”) that is pictured on the Carpenters’ “Now & Then” 1973 album. I’ve also added some photos from the Memorabilia Room that I forgot to include in my previous post.
