While working on this third and most recent Soviet platoon I couldn’t help but appreciate how far I’ve come. The model on the right is from the old Bolt Action Miniatures line, before they were acquired by Warlord Games, and I think he was called “Big Ivan” or something like that as he was sculpted to be a bit larger than the rest in the pack. That piece was painted in 2010/2011, a few years after Warlord Games bought Bolt Action Miniatures, as I remember working on that platoon while a Junior at Saint Vincent College. The piece on the left is the officer for my current Soviet list painted this year and comes from Artizan Designs. I do like seeing how far I’ve come and thinking about how far I’ll continue to grow in another decade.
