Our mothers give us something that truly, our fathers cannot. Our mitochondrial DNA gets passed to us from our mother.
These incredible organelles are responsible for producing ATP, heat, light and water. They are the electromagnetic sensors of our environment, keeping us in tune with our surroundings so that we can adapt accordingly and survive.
Our mitochondrial DNA can be used to track our maternal lineage all the way back to “Mitochondrial Eve,” who is estimated to have existed over 200,000 years ago. She is the mother of all humans. Think of all the mothers that had to exist for you to be here today, as well as the tribe of women it took to nurture all those children. It is truly incredible when you think about it.
