If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it. You can’t complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness, because that is the job. I’ve always understood that that’s the deal. It all comes down to your motives for what you do. I love music. It’s that simple. I love guitars. Just looking at a guitar makes me happy; makes me want to pick it up. I love writing lyrics. I love performing. I love people listening to what I do. It all goes wrong when you don’t have that passion; if you just want the fame. That’s the empty side.
