I would like to personally thank @andre3000 for his new album, “New Blue Sun.”
I heard every comment known to man about this album. When I purchased it, I was taken back to the childhood memories of my mother, brother A'Don Allen III, and myself living in Dewittsburg apartments in Elmira, NY. I had to be about three or four years old. My mom would have a time out period that she called “PEACE.”
Mom would take a nap on the sofa and my little brother and I would quietly sit on the loveseat, never moving.
The apartment would be quiet and all you heard was silence.
Today, there is no pause. Cell phones and social media have the brains of most of us on ten, each and every single day. We don’t know how to be still, or at peace with just our thoughts.
Andre brought me that peace, because honestly, I would have never purchased this genre of music by another artist. Dre is an artist you trust. Musically, he’s damn near perfect, with bars you can’t get enough of.
Die hard fans want the Andre 3000 we know and love. Why can’t the artist that gets us hyped with lyrics be the same one to bring us calm with beautiful instruments.
Thank you for giving me the medicine that I desperately needed. When you find inner peace, you’ll see where God really resides.
