And a post to wrap up this project! I had asked my friend if I could build lettuce carton terrariums for her kiddos this spring, and then got to ask her daughter which princessshe wanted. She chose 5th spirit Elsa (naturally!), and I was so excited because I already had an idea in my head of what I’d like to build. And while this isn’t perfect, it’s pretty close to what I imagined. Even better was watching a delighted 5 yr old immediately take out the figurines and start playing with them in/around their open terrarium home. It’s a kids&plants memory I’ll cherish. Sharing things I love with people I love… 💖💖💖

📝- I did end up supporting the tradescantia ‘Red Hill’ with some bamboo, which definitely helped my enchanted forest look more… Foresty.
I mixed in some vermiculite, since I’ve found Tradescantias to be particularly thirsty plants, so that may not have been enough in an open terrarium 😅
I should have snapped a final photo from the back so the plants were easier to see. But 🤷🏽♀️
I won’t replicate this terrarium, but I learned a lot and will definitely use much of that in future projects. All in all, a win on all counts and a really fun creative endeavor!
