We’re open!! I’m so excited to get started on a whole new journey! For now, I will be just selling bandanas and scrunchies, but in the future I’m hoping to sell headbands, collars, leashes, leash pouches, patches, vests, and more! I can’t wait to see what happens! Your support is very much appreciated, and I’m so happy to finally get started after spending forever planning and prepping. The longest part was picking a name. I wanted a name that really means something to me, and after weeks and weeks of searching, I found the perfect name, Plumeria Bloom Designs. A little background for you: A plumeria is a flower. I was on vacation in Curacao, an island in the Dutch Caribbean, and I fell in love with both the island and a very special gift. All over the island, there were these beautiful white flowers, called Plumeria Pudica. There were Plumeria Pudica trees next to the house we were at, and everyday I sat on my little “hiding spot” and watched the island. I wore one of these flowers in my hair everyday. And then I met Shakira. Shakira is my dog who we adopted from the island. We weren’t planning on it at all, but we fell in love with her and adopted her as my birthday gift (and my twins’). I was wearing one of those beautiful flowers when we adopted my heart dog. The Plumeria Pudica will forever remind me of my island and my pup, because when I left that island I left a piece of myself, but I also took a piece with me. She is the reason I started sewing, and while the name may not make sense to some, it makes sense to me and thats what matters. I took this picture of a Plumeria flower on Curacao. I am beyond excited to be sharing this very special project with everyone, because I’m hoping in the future, if this is successful, to donate some of the proceeds to the rescue Shakira came from, @rescuepawscuracao .
